In 2006, Steve and Patty Harp founded Generator Guy, Inc. in Telford, PA, with a mission to keep Montgomery and Bucks County powered. What started as a small operation in Pennsylvania, grew into a trusted name and our coverage area expanded, thanks to big Steve’s knack for picking up every call with, “Steve Harp, The Generator Guy!” That nickname stuck after clients began saying, “Call The Guy—he’ll fix it!”

Meet the Family

  • The original “Guy,” Steve’s passion for generators and customer care built our reputation. Now semi-retired, he shares his decades of know-how with the team, dreaming of fixing one more engine.

  • The heart and co-founder of the Generator Guy. Patty helped Steve stand up the business while they also raised four children. She has held many roles within the company, and is currently helping transition to the next generation.

  • Our mechanical wizard has been learning alongside Big Steve for nearly half his life. With a business degree from Penn State,  Stevie is the next generation of the Gen Guy. He currently runs our daily operations, and is your calm voice during emergencies. He’s the one to call when the lights go out. Just call “The Guy”

  • The loving older brother, supporting Stevie and the Generator Guy with growing our business. Michael is currently working as a full time firefighter and understands what it takes to respond to an emergency. He brings his consulting expertise and dual Masters degree in Business and Public Administration to the table.
